Squads

Below is a brief outline of the current squad structure. Swimmers who wish to join a Casuarina Storm squad should speak to the Coaches first. They will be able to assess which squad will be most suitable.

 

Junior Squads:

THUNDERBOLTS: 2 to 4 x one hour sessions per week

Improve skills in all 3 strokes with the introduction of swimming drills. Increase strength and stamina with endurance work and introduce basic butterfly skills. Basic turning skills in all strokes are introduced at this level. At this level swimmers should be competing at swimming club level.

 

LIGHTNING STRIKES: 2 to 4 x one hour sessions per week

Work on all aspects of competitive swimming through the use of drills and aerobic swimming paces. At this level swimmers should be competing at club level and also NT swimming events.

 

Senior Squads:

5 to 8 x 1hour 45min sessions per week.
This squad is for the serious athlete who may wish to compete at the highest end of competition such as nationals and interstate events. A high level of commitment from both parents and swimmers is required.

 

Equipment Required For Training

Swimmers should bring to training a good attitude and the following swim kit:
