All About Us

Casuarina Swimming Club Inc. is a non-profit swimming association affiliated with Swimming Northern Territory. Casuarina "Storm" Swimming Club was formed in 2011 after the amalgamation of Top End Storm Swimming Club with one of the original NT swim clubs, Casuarina "Crocs" Swimming Club Inc. Since then, we have grown to be one of the largest and most successful swim clubs in the NT. Our swimmers consistently do well at swim meets at local, state and national levels.  Our swimmers range in age from 5 to 50+.

The basic objectives of the Club are:

  • To promote and encourage participation in swimming.
  • To promote recreational swimming as an activity to improve the health and well-being of its members within a supportive, friendly, family focussed environment.
  • To encourage and support its members in their pursuit of competitive swimming.

Our Achievements

Our competitive swimmer numbers have grown from around 40 at the beginning of the 2016-2017 season to now around 80-100 swimmers each season.

In 2017 we had just 2 swimmers qualifying for the Australian Age Championships; in April 2018 we had 6 swimmers qualifying (2 individual, 4 in the relay), the most for any NT swimming club. In 2019 we had 10 swimmers qualify - a fantastic achievement for a relatively small club from the NT.

Our volunteer numbers are also increasing. We now have 20 members (the most of any other NT club) who have taken up the challenge of officiating in various roles and who have undertaken online courses via the Swimming NSW Online Training portal. We also have a large number of dedicated parents and supporters who generously donate their time and/or money to ensure the success of our annual Casuarina Storm Invitational and who organise a number of fundraising activities each year.

The success of our swimmers is shown by:

  • the results at the 2018, 2019, 2020 Vorgee NT Long Course Championships - Overall Club Champions;
  • the results at the 2018, 2019, 2020 Vorgee NT Short Course Championships (swimmer of the meet from our club);
